Yoga is a practice that incorporates stretching, physical postures, breathwork, and relaxation techniques to improve physical and emotional wellbeing. Doctors everywhere recommend yoga because the benefits of the physical practice are unparalleled. Yoga slows the aging process, reduces the harmful effects of stress, improves circulation, strengthens the mind-body connection, empowers the practitioner, improves quality of sleep, reduces chronic pain and inflammation, and improves quality of life for all ages. If you’ve never tried yoga before, or are simply looking to brush-up, this six-week Intro to Yoga series will get you acquainted with the basics so that you can begin experiencing the benefits asap.
If desired, please arrive up to 15 minutes early to set up, ask questions, and visit with the tribe.
- Park anywhere on the gravel parking lot.
- Bring your water bottle.
- Bring your yoga mat or use one of ours.
- Remove your shoes and socks upon arrival.
- Silence your phone and/or smart watch prior to the start of class. OR leave them outside in your vehicle.
- Don't expect to be able to do everything with ease. Balance, strength, and stamina come with practice. You WILL see progress but remember it is a practice not a competition.
- If something hurts, adjust or come out of the pose. We try to move through a pain free range of motion in yoga class, to honor the body in it's current condition.
- Yoga is not just for the flexible. Flexibility comes naturally with regular practice.
- Please bring a journal to take notes, this will help you now, and in the long run.
- If your mind is busy, anxious, or critical come back to your breath. Your breath is an anchor to the present moment. Breathe in relaxation, ease, and peace. Breathe out stress, discomfort, and dis-ease.
- Make a commitment to show up for yourself. Your body and breath are worthy of your time and attention.
- If you can't attend in person reach out and ask for a zoom link.
- This class is 90 minutes long and does sometimes run over, a few minutes. If you need to leave at a certain time, please let your instructor know.
